General FAQs

What age should I start training?

As soon as possible! Our training program is open to puppies as young as 10 weeks as long as they have had two rounds of their puppy shots. Whether you know it or not, your dog is always training. They are always learning what is acceptable and what is not, so it is important that we start early and train with intention.

Is the price listed per class/session or for the whole thing?

All prices listed are the price of the entire program!

Where are you located?

Our training center is located at 4645 Gulf Breeze Pkwy, Gulf Breeze, 32563 (right next to Dave’s Oyster Bar). All training, unless otherwise specified is conducted in our training facility.

How do I sign up?

Click the date of the class you want to sign up for or the “Book Now” button under our private sessions, and you will sign up online!

How do I pay?

When you book, you will input information of a valid debit/credit card to solidify your appointment. We do not accept cash or check.

What vaccinations do I need?

You must have proof of at least two rounds of Distemper/Parvo, and one Bordetella inoculation to attend class. If your puppy is over four months of age, they must also have a current Rabies vaccination. If you are unsure if your dog is covered, please email makayla@eastbaydogspot.com a copy of your vet records.

What will I need to bring?

Your confirmation email will tell you exactly what to bring to your appointment! You will need to bring a copy of your dog’s up-to-date vaccinations, a signed copy of our waiver for every program. Additionally, you will need three types of soft treats (we love Duck Nudges), a 4-5 foot leash, a treat bag, a bed/mat/rug for the dog to lay on, and we recommend the Freedom No Pull Harness.

What are your training methods?

Our training is positive reinforcement based (no prongs, choke chains, or e-collars). Using science-based techniques we give owners the skills and guidance to teach manners, obedience, and tackle unwanted behaviors. Positive reinforcement is the recommended training method by The American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior and has been shown to build confidence, reduce the risk of fallout, and yield longer-lasting results.

Can I bring my family or significant other to training?

For classes, we limit to two people per dog due to space. In private sessions, you are welcome to bring the whole family. Kids are welcome to come and participate as long as they respect the other dogs and people in the class and can conduct themselves safely in the environment. Kids under the age of 18 are must be supervised by a parent or guardian at all times.

Do you train aggressive dogs?

We do not work with human-aggressive dogs. If they have a bite history, we encourage you to seek help from a Veterinary Behaviorist. With that being said, we do work with dogs who are dog reactive or human reactive. If you are unsure if this applies to your dog, please give us a call, and we would be happy to help guide you!
